I’m not a fan of fur to begin with. I don’t like the idea of fuzzy little animals being harvested for the sake of fashion. I’m not a member of PETA (I agree with the philosophy but not the methods) but I have to say I don’t really feel much sympathy for people who wind up with their fur coats splattered with red paint. And before you turn this into a -hey, you wear leather, don’t you?- argument, let me change directions and just say this is really about fashion, not ethics.

You surely don’t like anyone I’d like to be ravished by, and that should tell you something. Wearing fur decreases your odds of getting laid by leaps and bounds. Yes, some women will still shag you. And they probably suck in bed. And not in the good way. Also yes, in my last fashion article I mentioned shearling. This actually does look ok, especially on cowboys. But that’s not the kind of fur I’m referring to here. I’m talking mink, fox, chinchilla. Etc. Something you’d expect P. Diddy to be wearing. The only other exception I think of is one of those furry Northface coats you see in Scandinavia. If you just live in Manhattan, it ain’t cold enough to get away with that kind of frou-frou-ness, ok? If you insist on wearing them anyway, here’s a few examples of things to avoid:

Nothing blue, for God’s sake.

What planet does this look natural on? If you really want to look like you just stepped out of Monsters, Inc, go right ahead. Do not expect any women to swoon, apart from doing so out of shock.

Nothing that makes you look like you’re playing dress up in mommy’s wardrobe.

You should never look like you’re swimming in a garment. You especially shouldn’t look like you might have mommy’s knickers on underneath that coat – so don’t wear anything uber feminine looking.

Nothing that makes you look like a pimp.

Oh, sorry, you’ll have to avoid fur altogether for this one.

Nothing that makes you look like you just stepped out of Starsky and Hutch.

If you’re going to wear fur, at least wear something that looks like it belongs in this millennium.

Nothing that you might have to fight J. Lo over.

She appears to change fur more than she changes her panties, doesn’t she? Careful, wear something too garish and she’ll be wanting your goods. Nothing too flash, please. (If that’s even possible.)

Fur is just a big fat yuck on anyone, but women can get away with being cold and heartless. More easily than men, anyway. Handkerchief Folding Instructions

The One-Corner Up Fold
This handkerchief folding style is best suited for very formal occasions, and should ideally be made with a single colored handkerchief.
Place your handkerchief diagonally on a flat surface.
Create a triangle by folding it across the center, so that two opposite corners are placed upon one another.
Now, take the left corner of the triangle and fold it halfway inward.
Take the right corner and fold it half way inward, so that it is placed over the left corner.
For a better effect, once you have folded it completely, run the iron over the folds just once. This will hold the entire setting together.
Turn it over, and place it in your pocket. The Two-Corner Up Fold
This handkerchief folding style is meant to be slightly less formal than the previous one. It is nonetheless as elegant and stylish.
Place your handkerchief diagonally on a flat surface.
Fold it across the center in a manner that it looks like two triangles placed over each other.
Take the left corner and fold it halfway inward.
Repeat the same step with the right corner.
Iron over the folds once, turn it over, and place it in your pocket. The Straight Shell
The straight shell is a pleated pocket square, that looks exactly as it has been named, a shell. It makes for a very classy handkerchief folding style.
Place your handkerchief on a flat surface, and fold it into half. Again, fold it into a smaller half.
To make a pleat, lift the lower edge of the kerchief and push it slightly upward, and press it well to make a fold. Remember to push and not fold.
Continue the same process until you have pleated the entire handkerchief. Once done, fold the right half of the handkerchief, over the left half.
Iron once, over the folds, and place it in your pocket. Adjust it so that the folded edge is visible when placed in the pocket. The Diagonal Shell
The diagonal shell has an effect similar to the straight shell. The only difference is that it is pleated diagonally.
Place your handkerchief on a flat surface, and fold it into half. Again, fold it into a smaller half. Rotate it so that it is placed diagonally.
Lift the lower point of the handkerchief, and press it slightly upwards, as you did with the straight shell.
Continue the same process until the entire handkerchief has been pleated. Once done, fold the right half over the left half.
Iron once, over the folds, and place it in your pocket. Adjust it so that the pointed edge goes inside the pocket, and the folded edge is visible. The Puff
The puff fold is informal, but trendy when sported in a suit or a blazer.
Place your handkerchief diagonally on a flat surface.
With your index finger and your thumb, pinch the handkerchief at the center, and lift it up.
With the handkerchief hanging from your right hand, run your left hand down the handkerchief, and stop at half the length.
Fold the hanging corners upwards. The top of the handkerchief will look like it has been puffed.
In this position, place the handkerchief in your pocket. It may have to be a adjusted a little so that it looks well-puffed, after you have put it in the pocket. The Reverse Puff
The reverse puff is exactly as the name suggests, the puff handkerchief folding style, reversed. All you have to do is make the puff, and turn it upside down, so that the corners of the handkerchief are visible once placed in your pocket.

The fabric of the handkerchief will determine how well your pocket square stays once you have styled it and put it in your pocket. While for the puff, nothing could be better than a silk handkerchief, for the remaining handkerchief folding styles, stiffer fabrics like cotton and linen would be ideal.
