Men’s Fashion Trends 2011

The men’s fashion trends 2011, is all about being casual and comfortable. The American debonair is back and this time with a classy yet dissonant combination of the 21st century high fashion. This year you get to define your own fashion apparel, in a way that you extract the most out of experimentation. The spring 2011 men’s fashion show was all about the urban gentleman-a man who wears sublimity in a characteristically uncanny way so that he defines what he wears and not the other way round. Here are examples, of some of the 2011 fashion trends brought in by some of the best designers of men’s wear.

D&G
Their collection of men’s fashion of 2011 managed to be a big hit, yet again. The collection, Ode to Suburbia is a tribute to the 1950′s fashion of the American suburban and their casual lifestyle. It will take you back in time when the polo necks, the gingham, the vintage safari, and the beach vacation prints were high fashion. Now think of all that, mixed with today’s flavor. A palette of somber light shades dominated the moss green ramp. Placid shades of green, khaki brown, blue, gray, and maroon gave the modern man a sense of sophistication unlike any other.

So this year, it’s time to wear safari pants and shorts with light colored shoes. They also brought back the checkered shirt patterns of red and white, black and white, and combined it with the beige lowers. Light green, blue, and yellow T-shirts or shawl sweaters worn with checked shirts, looked fantastic and so did the dark brown cardigans, and leather jackets. Ragged and faded jeans made a classy reentry as well, combined with the suave charms of a man who knows himself well. D&G has given today’s man an opportunity to be free and comfortable in his own skin.

Missoni
Missoni’s trends have always been a personal favorite of mine. Their collection is all about geometrical prints, which add so much more zing to the pants. Their slim fit trousers evolve from a combination of colors ranging from pallets of orange, maroon, and blue. Mufflers and hats add excellent contrast to the flashy lowers. This year they have stressed a lot on men’s coats and is, therefore, the single most essential part of their collection.

Long trench coats that remind us of 1940s, as well as exceptionally well tailored coats with bold golden buttons stole the show. Graphite gray and deep maroon coats looked the classiest. Missoni’s fashion trends for 2011 also flashed some peppy shades such as olive green and mustard brown for the coats. As for the pants, metallic shades of black, gray, and blue looked svelte when combined with pointed leather shoes and boots.

Trussardi 1911
Trussardi’s men’s fashion 2011 takes you back to the time when retro fashion was a way of life. Their collection can be worn by any man who dares to try something different. The predominant colors are white, black, gray, brown, and red. Skinny pants are a must have, they can be worn with almost anything. Casual well fitted, striped white, and black round necked-long sleeved pullovers, plain black shirts and a casual gray T-shirt, with rolled up sleeves were the styles that stood out the most. Their simplicity added with some pure personality, got the good word going for them. The leather jacket that we all miss so much is back with a bang, now you can flaunt it, just like the real daredevils do.

Have no qualms about it. Wear well fitted leather jackets with stripped button-up shirts or a plain T-shirt and you’re all set to roll. Accessorize with the classy dark Ray-bans and do not forget the evergreen Italian leather shoes. Also remember, the belts need to stand out, so if your wearing black all over, try white belts or other colors. Trussardi’s latest collection, introduced the hand bag in a big way this year. Wearing bags is a matter of choice, and is therefore left on your discretion. Some of the styles that really looked good were the blue shirts with crunched up sleeves worn over dark gray and black stripped T-shirts and brown pants along with the soft yellow T-shirts worn with a wrapped muffler or coat.

Men’s Formal Fashion
This year, men can afford to take chances with their formal ensemble. Make an effort to add more color to your office apparel. Pick up colors that you like, but wouldn’t have thought you could wear for formal occasions. Pick up jackets in velvety indigo, blue, maroon, and brick red. If you’re comfortable with lighter shades, you may also try giving pink and lime yellow a chance. If this seems a bit too overboard for you, then you may go in for scarves and summery mufflers. You will definitely need to revamp your entire collection of ties. Think bold! Colors such as red, purple, bottle green, and mustard are a few colors which you must try. These colors will look great with black-white, which are always a safe combination. You should also switch to different colored trousers wherein you can add whitewashed shades to your wardrobe’s pallets. These will include gray, white, green, and beige. Do not hesitate to wear check patterned shirts to office or for casual luncheons. From the state of things, it’s about time men start looking different from one another. So chuck the same old boring shades of light blue, brown, and white shirts and try something new.

Men’s Summer Fashion
For this year and the coming summer, the fashion mantra is to be comfortable. Plain and simple. Who wouldn’t want to breathe easy and stave off from the stifling heat of the season? Go in for thin and airy fabrics for both shirts as well as trousers. Khaki and cotton-Lycra pants are a far wiser choice as compared to denim jeans. Corduroy pants are a complete NO for summer time. Do add hats to your fashion sensibilities this summer as these will keep you shaded from the heat and compliment your carefree attire.

For this summer, ‘Mandals’ or man-sandals are a must have! For casual outdoor strolls, dates or shopping sprees, these sandals will ensure that your feet stay cool, comfortable, and free. There are a variety of exceptionally well designed leather sandals in stores today, so go ahead and have your pick. For late evenings, you may wear summer jackets or simply wear a larger shirt on a t-shirt.

Men’s Winter Fashion
This winter, the men’s fashion mantra is layers-upon-layers. Get your hands on as many jackets, cardigans, sweaters, mufflers, and woolen hats as you can. Do not forget the long coats and gloves. The objective is to keep yourself warm while you’re looking good. Since winter is often associated with gloomy weather and lack of sunshine, it would do you good to add some vibrant colors to your apparel. This will ensure that you give out happy vibes to others as well. Go in for colors that please you while collaborating them with brown, black, and gray. In order to add more color, you may go in for multi-colored mufflers, caps, gloves, and brighter winter boots. Always buy the most well fitting and impeccably tailored coats and blazers, as these can make all the right difference. A simple trench coat can make any man look confident and sure of himself. These broadens out the shoulders and makes you man up.

Fashion for Older Men
Finely tailored shirts, blazers, and trousers are what older men should wear for 2011. This season try wearing muted shades and black on black, as this combination will make you look slimmer as well as taller. Check shirts are a definite YES for casual and outdoor activities. Do not hesitate to fold up the sleeves a bit if you feel like relaxing. Full sleeved t-shirts, V-necked shirts, and sweaters are also a must have. Opt for comfort oriented fabric, when it comes to trousers. Come this winter, buy yourself a few well chosen cardigans, gloves, a trench coat, and sweaters. Sophisticated fashion is the essence of the season for all the older men out there.

Create Your Own Style
All right, so here is the catch. CYOS basically means to ‘Create Your Own Style’! If you do not have the moolah or the inclination to go in for exorbitant brands, you’ve got to become innovative and come up with your own thing. As simple as that. All you need to do is to keep an eye out for the changing trends and imbibe them into your own style, without making it look too dramatic. Go in for simple T-shirts and shirts which you’d find in normal stores and wear it in a way that it appeals to you. For instance:

Blazers- Layering is a great way of adding more personality to your attire. Wear t-shirts with blazers and trench coats, which have prominent buttons.

Waist Coats – Wear shirts with rolled up sleeves, over t-shirts or with waist coats.

Scarves – Summer scarves and mufflers to wear along with formal and semi formal trousers and jeans.

Shoes – Get rid of the cliched black shoes and go in for the multitude of colors that the new generation has to offer you..such as moss green, blue, mustard, deep purple and the really nice gray.

Suspenders – A definite YES, shall go for ‘Suspenders’ as these are a must have. These go well with every type of shirt, except sleeve less ones.

Satchels and Bags – A satchel is both user friendly as well as rebellious. Personally, I find it very attractive on a man, especially if the bag is well designed and worn with confidence.

Hats – Hats and caps too look amazing, when worn with style. Caps while more common do not complete with Fedoras. It is highly unlikely for a woman to resist a man who can carry off this style with ease.

Watches – The bigger the better. Choose your own style as per your budget and wear one, only if you like them. Some men, hate wearing watches as it gets too constricting and makes them feel tied down.
So these were a few ideas for men to follow in 2011. Go ahead and experiment with these trends while adapting it with your own style quotient. Also do not forget to get the right kind of men’s hairstyle, which are popular in this spring fashion. You may add your own dynamic appeal with certain personal preferences added or subtracted from the apparel and the accessories.

Men’s Cowboy Hats Sexy Styles

Cowboy hats fall into one of two categories: The ridiculously stupid, and the ridiculously sexy. Unfortunately, most of the men I see sporting these hats are not looking ridiculously sexy.. so you can guess which type of hat they’re usually wearing.

If you’re wondering how a New Yorker came to be such a fashion authority on cowboy hats and what makes them sexy, I lived in Texas for nearly a decade. I’ve seen every style, and every color. Now, obviously, cowboy hats can serve a practical purpose for real cowboys — we’re not talking about that today for two reasons. 1: Real cowboys aren’t going to care about sex appeal when buying their hat. 2. Real cowboys are unlikely to be surfing the next for advice on how to look sexy when wearing one.

Other men are, however, and that’s who this geared toward; the men who aren’t cowboys and just want to try one on for the sake of sex appeal. I’ve selected 3 Stetsons which I think 99% of men can wear without looking too silly. One may look better than the other two, that’s up to you to decide. Personally, I think the straw hats are the best bet, because they aren’t super obvious, and they will not give people the impression that you think yourself to be a real cowboy.

Stetson Malibu

This is, perhaps, my favorite cowboy hat style. The straw material makes it very trendy looking — you can wear this even if you aren’t a cowboy. Indeed, this is probably the most commonly seen hat amongst urban cowboys across America. It’s a cowboy hat with a funky personality. As long as you aren’t wearing a tux or business suit, it will look good.

Cost: $50

Stetson Santa Monica

Similar to the Malibu, this is another funky cowboy hat most of y’all would look good in. I’ve seen loads of Texas university students (male and female) sporting them, and I was always surprised by how good they look. Yes, they might look at bit silly online, but they look pretty fantastic in person. As with the Malibu, this one is made of straw.

Cost: $50

Stetson Durango

This is the only traditional cowboy hat I’m including, because it’s the only felt Stetson that I really like. You’ll notice it’s not the 10 gallon type; people won’t be able to see your hat from 20 miles away, and that’s what makes it fashionably sexy. That, and it’s black. White cowboy hats haven’t been sexy since the Lone Ranger went off the air.

Cost: $135
